This Age spans from the creation of Arda until the time when the Two Lamps of the Valar are destroyed by Melkor.
This was an Age during which the Valar dwelt in Middle-earth as their abiding place, tendering the land. The Two Lamps were then made by the Valar to set standing in Middle-earth, and the light of the Lamps travelled wherever upon the surface of Arda daylessly. And the world was flowered with its warmth; thus, beings The Spring of Arda.
